HELPING HANDS 2011

Saturday Sharing

So, this year Helping Hands will continue on Saturday afternoon.

After Pastor Isaac gives the message, there will be time for everyone to visit different stations set up at DCFC and one of those stations is a sharing room!

We are blessed to have Kevin Chiou, Ryan Chen, and Grace Wey sharing about their missions experiences from this summer. Please come out and support us and hear about how God has worked in their lives to touch those who do not yet know him!

The ministry that we are donating to this year is Abba’s House!Abba’s House is a community based, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2008 in order to serve students specifically in the North Dallas, Richardson and Hamilton Park neighborhoods.  Since it’s inception we have served over 300 students directly through mentoring, tutoring, sports, job readiness and crisis intervention. Check out this link to learn more about them: http://abbashouseyouth.org/

Our Speakers!

Hey everyone!

I am proud to annouce that our speaker for Friday night will be Pastor Don Hunter! He was the senior high speaker at DCCYC this past June, so I hope that you guys will be excited to hear him speak on missions. Pastor Don is also the Founder and Executive Director of Abba’s House, Inc., which is the ministry that the proceeds of Helping Hands will go to this year. Our Saturday speaker will be Pastor Isaac Teng from DCFC. We were priveleged to have him speak at last year’s Helping Hands (back when it was only one night) and we are glad that he is willing to speak for us again. Praise God!

The Helping Hands Missions Statement

Hey Everyone!

Ryan and I came up with a formal mission statement for Helping Hands this year to give y’all a better idea of the purpose and mission of the benefit concert that we have every summer.

The mission of the Helping Hands Benefit Concert is to glorify God through corporate worship (Col 3:16), reveal the gospel to all the nations (Psalm 67:1-2), imitate Christ’s love and humility (Phil 2:3-8), and to mobilize the Church for missions both here and abroad.

First Post!

Hello y’all!

This is Ryan here, one of the members of the Helping Hands crew. I am, however, only helping supervise the team this year because we have a new leader and team to replace my old worship team (that’s what happens when you grow old). These guys have definitely a lot more energy and passion than what I used to have. I am very excited to see what God is going to do through them and through this event.

So without further ado, here is the new team of Helping Hands 2011:

  • NATALIE GOW
  • CARL WU
  • NATHAN CHIU
  • ERIN YANG
  • IAN KWAN
  • BRANDON CHIN
  • JEREMY TSUI
  • MAX KAO (sound)

I will continue to update you guys on more information regarding the speaker, the products being sold, and also THE SECOND DAY?? YES, there is a second day! I will update y’all more on that in the time to come!
